Ocean Signal’s rescueME EPIRB1 nominated for Sailing Today award

Online voting in the 2015 honours is open until August 23

epirb1 reflectedOcean Signal’s rescueME EPIRB1 has been nominated in the ‘Gear Innovation’ category of the Sailing Today Awards 2015.

The rescueME EPIRB1, the world’s most compact Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon, has been selected by the magazine’s expert panel among a list of six of the year’s most innovative products.

At 30 per cent smaller than other similar products, the 178mm (height with antenna stowed) by 89mm Ocean Signal EPIRB can always be on hand as its small size allows it to be easily retained within its quick release bracket or placed in an emergency grab-bag or life raft.

Additional outstanding features include an exceptional 10-year battery life, which is supported by a 5-year warranty. It is supplied with integrated GPS as standard, guaranteeing fast and accurate positioning information is transmitted to the authorities in the event of an emergency. Operating within a temperature range of -20C and +55C, the Ocean Signal EPIRB will transmit for 48 hours.

The new Sailing Today Awards have been launched to recognise the best the marine industry and the cruising world have to offer across 12 categories.
