The integrated 66 channel GPS ensures a position update is provided every minute via AIS. The difference between the Ocean Signal M100 and M100X is that the M100X is designed to meet the European ATEX directive and has IECEx approval for use in zone 2 explosive atmospheres.<\/p>\n

Lifejacket Integration<\/strong><\/p>\n

The safeSEA M100 AIS can be activated manually or automatically when installed within an inflatable lifejacket that automatically inflates. Installation is made simple using the included oral inflation tube clip to attach the M100 to the lifejacket in conjunction with the activation tape connected around the bladder of the lifejacket**. Once correctly installed, the action of the lifejacket bladder inflating triggers the deployment of the antenna and activation of the beacon.<\/p>\n

The Ocean Signal M100 and M100X MSLD (Maritime Survivor Locating Device) has been designed to meet the needs of the professional marine market and its offshore workers. The M100 and M100X can be fitted to a life jacket* and will automatically activate on inflation of the jacket. Once activated the M100 and M100X will transmit an alert to all AIS receivers and AIS enabled plotters in the vicinity. The M100 and M100X also transmit a 121.5 MHz homing signal in addition to the AIS.<\/p>\n

NOTE:\u00a0<\/strong>ECC\/DEC\/(22)02, also known as the AIS Class M regulation, has been implemented by a number of European countries. The significance of implementation of this regulation for existing M100\/M100X owners is that M100\/M100X beacons may no longer be used in countries that have implemented the new regulation. It is important to note that restriction of use of the M100\/M100X in specific European countries is not a result of any product defects, it is instead a direct result of changes to regulations initiated by an independent regulatory body.<\/p>\n
