What happened?

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Lusty & Blundell for the import of these devices, which played a critical role in a recent emergency. On the 20th of February, while we were hiking in the mountains, my wife sustained a severe injury to her leg, ultimately resulting in a broken bone. With the sun setting and darkness fast approaching, we decided to camp overnight and wait until morning. We knew that attempting a rescue in the dark would be dangerous. Not only for us but also for any potential rescuers.

At first light, I activated the rescueME PLB 1 device. About 50 minutes later, the Hastings rescue helicopter spotted us. The crew immediately transported my wife to Hastings Hospital, where she underwent surgery. The experience was both terrifying and relieving. I was amazed at how easy the device was to use. It even flashed a light when it operated, reassuring me that it was functioning properly.

The sense of relief and gratitude I felt in that moment was overwhelming. Knowing that help was on the way meant I did not have to leave my wife’s side. I could stay with her instead of trying to find a way to carry her out of the mountains on my own. There was no way I could manage that, especially in the dark, and I was grateful that we could safely wait for daylight before activating the PLB. It gave me the confidence to remain calm and focused on supporting my wife until help arrived.

In the end, the Personal Locator Beacon made all the difference for us. It was an invaluable tool that allowed for quick and safe rescue. I highly recommend this unit to my friends and anyone who ventures into the outdoors. It’s an essential piece of equipment for ensuring safety in challenging situations.
